2. how to flash cm 7-EA-v4 zip and nbo,pls step by step..someone can teach

ReplyDelete
3. Why would anyone want to try this silly looking ROM? You'd better try the original CM7 and fix the screen rotation issue.

ReplyDelete
4. Please do a sanity check before posting Its CyanogenMod-7_EAv4 ChangeLog not CyanogenMod-7_EAv3

@Naren - I prefer this ROM over original CM7 for two reasons
1. Does not have random system restarts.
2. Does not have SD card unexpectedly removed notification

@godend
.zip is for update from old version of this ROM through clockwork recovery
.nbo flashing is through SUTLR tool.
Steps you can find in net, CM7 site, old posts on this blog

@Ralph - Same problem here, unable to fix the screen rotation for EAV4, so temporarily only portrait. Maybe clean .nb0 flash will fix the problem, I'll check tonight and let you all know tomorrow.

works on stock phones?

8. again the IMEI problem. I was using 2.3.3 and does'nt have any problem but after finished this rom my phone lost imei:-(

ReplyDelete
9. @royals - i hope you didnt flash EAv4 or CM7 nightly.. if so then no IMEI.. u have to flash the .nbo in such case

@hicarlwere- Battery consumption is good in MI 300, lasts a day with calls and 2G always on

ReplyDelete
10. @Aevum Dciessio: I flashed with CyanogenMod-7_EAv4 ZIP and i can not use .nb0 because my phone doesnt recognize the usb now.

ReplyDelete
11. @NWE - you still haven't found the solution from the last post? here it is http://www.ubiquitense.com/technology/plausible-solution-to-the-cm7-nightlies-screen-orientation-issue-upside-down-landscape/3110/

ReplyDelete
12. Turn on the phone download mode to use with SUT (End_call + Vol_Up + Power).
To fix the screen rotation try format boot via recovery and reflash the zip.

ReplyDelete
13. @S.line: if I use download mode usb will be recognized by phone?

ReplyDelete
14. @S.line so your screen rotation is ok?

ReplyDelete
15. @Ralph and @NWE - this is what you guys need - www.ubiquitense.com/technology/plausible-solution-to-the-cm7-nightlies-screen-orientation-issue-upside-down-landscape/3110/ to fix the screen rotation issue.

ReplyDelete
16. @lovabllife2006 have you actually tried that? coz i just spend my whole evening reinstall the zip but still wouldn't fix anything. :(

ReplyDelete
17. @Ralph that link wont work for EAV4.. its only for the current CM7 nightlies

ReplyDelete
18. That link will probably work if you install a CM7 nightly and, after fixing the issue, installing EAV4.

ReplyDelete
19. nope..I tested it but the nb0 installation also has the screen reversed. Still I'll be sticking with this ROM as I never use landscape.

ReplyDelete
20. @royals
ur phone is not recognized because of custom recovery.
either flash the android recovery using fastboot or flash the rom in download mode

ReplyDelete
21. My rotation screen is fine with this one.

ReplyDelete
27. @Tarun Kumar Singh: you are right it was custom rom before. if i turn my phone fastboot how can i flash the anroid recovery without using my usb? and where can i find original android rom for my orange boston/commitiva z71 and the steps, how can i do the flashing in download mod?
thanks for your help.

ReplyDelete
28. @lovabllife2006 im sorry if you feel offended :(. i just want to point out that repeatedly flash the .zip doesn't make any difference. Did you actually ever tried that method? If you do and it works i'd say thank you.

Anyway, to fix the screen, all you have to do is to install this kernel calibration fix thru recovery mode http://www.filefactory.com/file/cdec840/n/kernel-fix-kalibrasi.zip
if the screen not responsive after the kernel installation, just reinstall superaosp's kernel fix, that's all.

ReplyDelete
29. @Ralph - I tried that method, that's why recommended.

Anyways, we're friends now :D *handshake*

thanks for the tut it works like a charm....

ReplyDelete
31. how come i can't find it on cyanogen page

ReplyDelete
32. looks better than original Cyanogen

ReplyDelete
33. love the screenshot option in the power menu :D

ReplyDelete
34. you change the screen orientation..i bet you 'll have another annoying problem...,no problem to give it a shot..its a gingerbread..hehehe

ReplyDelete
35. @normansiddek so what do you reckon?

ReplyDelete
36. I have a prob...
superaosp's kernel fix works like a charm but after a wille everything comes back to normal... (kalibration is bad again...)

can some one help me? thank you for your time

ReplyDelete
37. superaosp kernel is the only thing that bring sback the orientation. I am not sure if Z71 variants are considered to be active by developers. It's been long since this problem has not been resolved. Maybe it's too difficult to resolve either.

ReplyDelete
38. so everytime the kalibration is bad I need to settup again?

ReplyDelete
39. Why recovery ver.4.0.0.8 can't restone backup?
And ROM Manager suppurt ver.4.0.0.8 not yet?

ReplyDelete
40. Thank you BOBJOAN.I made it your way and it's working on Orange Boston(Z71 variants).

ReplyDelete
41. @All!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
if you are tired to try all unfinished this roms!
You can put this one:
http://www35.zippyshare.com/v/40604787/file.html
is nb0 files and work after any rom you have

ReplyDelete
42. @Vasile - that is a 2.2 ROM i believe.. in that case why u are suggesting Bakpia over Phantom? Because of dev still working on Bakpia or features are more than phantom?

ReplyDelete
43. how I write in changelong is:
Bakpia 2.2.3 system +kernel(boot.img) Twonights
not phantom
I suggest to try because is good not because is bakpia or phantom or anithing else!
if radithtux still work on Bakpia Im glad because is a good rom but not enough!
kernel of Twonights run on 600mhz adn is more stabil and faster than original kernel made by PJMOD on 864mhz
I put 2 good pieces in one to make better
ps. I dont use phantom! Anyone use phantom can compare with this one and tell wich is better!!!

ReplyDelete
44. How can I backup and restore previously installed apps easily? I dont want to keep on installing apps each time I try different ROM.

Thanks in advance.

46. @Vasile - cool.. I'll try it, sounds interesting. Someone in androidpt also commented the same thing and is using this combination.
You made the file yourself or u are sharing the link from some blog? And did u ever happen to try bakpia + phantom kernel? Am not sure if both uses the TJ Style kernel.
Damn.. why did such gud devs didnt kick off 2.3 Androids

ReplyDelete
47. I am vaserbanix from androidpt!
I test this combination for few days and now putit here for all!
yes I modified the file but not to much!only battery icon!and few app's
tryed with phantom kernel but in my opinion is forced to much and eat the battery faster than twonights kernel!

ReplyDelete
48. @vasile folosesc de ceva timp super AOSP AW 2.3.4 care este aproape ok, este versiunea asta de 2.2 mai fluida, mai rapida si tine mai bine bateria?

ReplyDelete
49. Installing Bakpia Twonights.. A new G1305 boot screen for my XT5 :) .. will let you all know as i go ahead :)

ReplyDelete
50. @wtfro

ReplyDelete
51. @vasile O să fac o probă.

ReplyDelete
52. @ Aevum Dicessio - I too have flashed my phone with Bakpia Twonights however I see the version as 2.2.2. Also I can see my old apps. I got an option to select ADW (one I installed) as well as sense UI launcher option. The one I had earlier was Phantom Sky Rev 1. Did you get it flash in clean way? I used nb0.

ReplyDelete
53. @vasile

Is Bapkia Twonights as stable and lag-free as phantom?
What about the battery life? 2 days?

thanks

ReplyDelete
54. in my opinion firetrapTwonights it was much better then phantom but firetrap stop to work on it!
i use twonights kernel because is more stabil end faster then original made by TJ-STYLE(my mistake on earlier post)
wait for a feedback from someone hoo used phantom and now try Bakpia-Twonights

ReplyDelete
55. Many thanks.Zip file This fixed my wifi disconnect problem.
Do I need to install any new gapps zip and or fix battery zip also?

ReplyDelete
56. @vishal
if you have an old partition from previous rom,
ned to format it from recovery because old apps wil not work
make an factoryreset!
give a feedback please? thanks

ReplyDelete
57. Battery life is better than phantom and EAv4 no doubt. But I am facing lags in regular phone usage, not sure if its my configuration.
SD-Ext: 512MB
Swap: 32MB

do we need swap in Android?
@Vasile - any suggestion for overcoming the lag?

ReplyDelete
58. @Aevum
1solution is to instal from market "spare parts"
and modified sped of "window animation" and "Tranzition animation" from normal to fast
and lag disapear!

ReplyDelete
59. Or "Settings/Display/Animation" and set "No animation".

ReplyDelete
60. I have tested bakpia 2.2.3 update.. very good rom everything is awsome.. but only one problem I faced that phone never vibrates on any mode. so I removed it

ReplyDelete
61. @vasile - Yes it worked fine after wiping everything via recovery. Strange.. Bapkia does not have Gallery. Am I missing something?

@All - Tried EAv4 however could not get over screen rotation issue. Tried to install it few times as mentioned in some of the posts but no luck.. flashed to Bapkia twonights.

ReplyDelete
62. @me_sharief - The android version says 2.2.2 though the ROM says 2.2.3. Do you see the same?

ReplyDelete
63. @me-sharief
jus tested tha vibration and it work very well!
porhaps you have a problem with yor phone
@cipi
thanks for help!
ce mai faci ca nu team vazut de 2 zile pe forum?

ReplyDelete
64. sorry for double post!
@vishal
did you red the changelog?
anyway instal "Quick pictures" from market!
it work better then Gallery

ReplyDelete
65. @vishal - dont confuse. Android version is 2.2.2 and 2.2.3 is the version that the dev gave to his ROM. tomorrow another ten updates it may remain Android 2.2.2 but rom version might become 2.2.13 something like that... Hope I cleared some air :)

ReplyDelete
66. @vasile Sunt bine! Vad ca ai scos ROMul la export ;)

ReplyDelete
67. @vasile
i tested your rom in spice mi-300

my observations are:
1. gallery not working (replace by quickpic solves the problem)
2. wont pass boot logo if you dont partition the sd card first. only after partition the sd card was able to boot.
3. on my first boot, ringtones are present. on my next boot ONLY default ringtone is present. i just reboot to solve this problem.
4. 90% battery remaining after 6 hours standby
5. everything else working properly.

i hope you can create a separate section for this rom so that further testing results will exclusively posted.

ReplyDelete
70. @Aevum Dicessio - Thanks. Yes that does help. I confused 2.2.3 with 2.3

@djolivier - So the rotation problem is not fixed right?

ReplyDelete
71. The sensor G is fixed!
Install the original kernel (2.6.35.13) and after install the superaosp kernel and is all fixed!

ReplyDelete
72. @djolivier you need to reboot after each installation. I tried it in one go and does not work. I tried by installing one and reboot once, then install another one. it works. note that for the aosp kernel part you'll need the CML#1 and the FIX.zip, which was CML#6.

77. Hi godend , can you give me a more details about Sky1

ReplyDelete
78. @godend - Phantom Sky Rev 1 is the best ROM i have used so far in terms of stability. Battery life is still not great as compared to SuperAOSP. Did you face rotation issue for this ROM?

@All - Can I flash superAOSP kernel over Phantom Sky rev1?

ReplyDelete
79. o, i think superAOSP for cm7 only, not suitable for sky 1..now i used rom 2.3.5 about few days no more problems, rotation was fix, speed or wifi are good, better than sky1..

ReplyDelete
80. vishal..b4 u flashed sky1.u better restore to official rom 2.1,otherwise ,the rotation maybe not works,

ReplyDelete
81. @godend - I never had any issues with Sky rev1. Are you suggesting to go back to stock ROM (2.1) before flashing CyanogenMod-7_EAv4 NB0 to fix rotation problem? Is everything working fine for you?

ReplyDelete
82. @godend - confirm me about changing ROM (2.2) to CyanogenMod-7_EAv4 so that i can flash my mi300.

ReplyDelete
83. CyanogenMod-7_EAv4 - rotation problem and no battery back up i am planing to back to nova rom 2.2

ReplyDelete
84. @ Vinod: Any issues with Nova ROM. Just flashed to Phantom Sky Rev1. Dont mind testing if the ROM is stable and battery life is good. 3G sucks lot of battery. Anything to make battery life better?

ReplyDelete
85. @Vishal

Best futures are
1. Best Battery life.

ReplyDelete

ReplyDelete
90. @vinod where did u get nova rom

ReplyDelete
91. @sandeep
you can download from here:
Use SUT LR to update
http://www.cherrymobile.com.ph/site/downloads/android-2-2-1-update-for-nova.html

ReplyDelete
92. @Vinod - Flashed with Nova ROM. Working good so far and looks similar to Phantom sky rev1.

@Sandeep - Download the zip file and extract. It is installable. Install the setup which SUT LR. Put your phone to "download mode" (call end + volume UP + Power for moto xt502) and follow the same procedure of installing .nb0 file. The instructions given by program is not applicable for moto xt5. Thats all. You may want to wide data before installing by going into recovery or can do that with the installation program.

@ All - I have installed CM7.1.x version on my wife's LG optimus one. The version works like charm. Speed has improved tremendously and stable (quadrant score 1000+). No issues with Rotation either. Why CM Z71 variant has these issue? Is there any stable 2.3 version?

ReplyDelete
93. I'm using rare CM but I think RC1 (ver 2.3.4) is good enough with CML kernel!

ReplyDelete
94. try firetraplollipop2 2.2.2..better then nova 2.2.1,i always turn back to this one, here is the link http://free-mobile-messenger.com/2011/03/28/firetrap-lollipop-2-2-2/

Anyone who has problems with speed sensor do the following:

1 - download these 2 files and put them on SD card
www.filefactory.com/file/cdec840/n/kernel-fix-kalibrasi.zip
www.wuala.com / c.martinez.lozano / Boston / FIX.zip
2 - start in recovery mode and install the kernel-fix-kalibrasi.zip

107. Hi Friends,

I have a videocon zeus phone/commtiva z51 a z71 variant. The difference in this phone is that it does not have trackball in the middle to make any selection. I have somehow been able to install firestrap 2.2.1 on the phone and want to upgrade to gingerbread 2.3. I need following help in the recovery mode which button should I press to make a selection as the trackball is not there. Stuck at this.

ReplyDelete
108. @rex022 - That's pretty simple. Even trackballs may stop working due to some damage. In cases like these and yours...

Vol+/- ---> scroll up/down
Camera button ---> select

Enjoy !
