[Rom 2.3.7] MyGingerB 1.0.3 stable

Likes:
Fluid performance – didn’t notice any lag
Default Gingerbread launcher – fast and lovely!
Better memory management – features RAM optimizer from juwe11
Great battery life (with the Ubuntu kernel)
Nice splash-screen animation – won’t hurt your eyes
No illegal reboots
Camera is slightly, but noticeably faster than stock CM7.1
Quad score @600 MHz on-demand – 898
Quad score @672 MHz on-demand – 1004

Issues:
Wi-Fi performance was not as expected – was expecting it to be better than the stock CyanogenMod version. May be it’s just my phone!
Volume rocker wake is missing (I use it a lot) – because it’s primarily designed for Spice MI 300?
Signal fluctuations when on 3G – over optimized for Malaysian networks?
So, it’s time to install this ROM on your phone…

gonna try eav6 and stick with it... its the one I like more, mostly because of stability and battery life. Although I liked very much of Cyanogenmod 7.1 aPT v1 , the only problem is just the battery life that because of the memory overclocking doesn't last a day.

    Thanks any way

  14. This rom drained my battery flat in 8 hrs without doing anything. It kept my phone warm throughout as if some process was running in background even when the screen was off.

  15. But using same rom with ubuntu 11 kernel gives better result.

  37. There was some problem in market and synchronization but after restart the phone they worked. But USB thethering and Wifi Tethering are not working at all.

Can anyone suggest me a stable rom (2.1, 2.2 or 2.3) which runs smooth and have good wifi and tethering. I am tired off flashing all this roms.

    ReplyDelete
  38. @Suyash
Most stable ROM is phantom sky revolution , its froyo ROM.

    ReplyDelete
  39. The ROM has problem with camera zoom feature but it only occurs for 5 MP but try to lower the pixel it may work or should I say zoom is completely messed up.

I have tried ubuntu kernel 20 and it seems to work just fine. Wifi is good which is unusual and this only happened after flashing ubuntu kernel 20 and here is the link for ubuntu kernel 20 http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ZVK7IUCF

I can say that for some reason, this ROM is far stable than the other 2 releases. PS Battery drains faster compare to Phantom but try to fastboot your phone, it may help in reducing the numbers of apps that should not work in its background.

  40. terima kasih sangat kepada pemaju malaysia!Saya berharap seseorang dari Filipina boleh membangunkan ROM sendiri yang disesuaikan! I just used Google Translate.

  41. g-sensor x-axis inverted. Any fix for this? tried using the #11 and #20 ubuntu kernels, still inverted.

  42. Dude, when you're copying from my blog pls give proper credit. Otherwise, this 'likes' and 'issues' you've mentioned is nothing but plagiarism.

  43. For those who have problem using this ROM or any other CM based ROM, follow these error proof steps.

1 . Flash Firetrap 10 Final (Android 2.1, pre-rooted) nb0 file, download site (megaupload.com/?d=75CXDZWT)or stock ROM (Android 2.1, no root)
2 . Install ROM Manager from market, update clockworkmod twice to ensure, and move ROM manager to SD if can.
3 . Put MYGingerBread ROM on SD card and boot into recovery mode.
4 . Wipe data, cache and dalvik, then flash MYGingerBread zip from recovery, then reboot to new installed ROM.

These steps can be use on all Cyanogenmod based ROM with minimal error/bug. Flash right for problem free experience :D

  44. @angelictears
I followed your instructions but axis still inverted :'(

    ReplyDelete
  45. @zuckerburg,
try to reflash again without data wipe, but wipe dalvik and cache. see if it helps.

  46. I installed this [Rom 2.3.7] MyGingerB 1.0.3 stable .. It is great, and then I change my kernel to 2.6.32.9-SuperAosp.. the good thing in this kernel is it doesn't use much of the battery when screen is off, and when you use ur phone normally it would last a day.. that is why my fully charged battery lasted over 72 hours with fair use..I seldom open my phone only when there are text messages and when I have to search the net for mintues.. :) great rom..:) the key is the SuperAosp kernel..:)

    ReplyDelete
  47. @ ricar

    Thanks bro :D
Although the ROM featured SuperAOSP kernel as default :D

Owh, and did I mentioned that MYGingerBread 1.1.0 Gaia has been released? :)

  48. Thanks for the help :)

My orientation problem was fixed when i removed the batter for several minutes then put it back on. Got the idea from android pt.

btw, great rom u got here

    ReplyDelete
  49. im on gaia now. so far its performing very great
smooth and stable. thanks for a wonderful rom
a great replacement for phantom :)

    ReplyDelete
  50. followed the suggested steps to flash myginger and gaia. still having inverted x-axis. removing battery doesnt seem to help. At initial start up after flashing i get an error saying something about "com.phone.process..." then i need to press force close. anyone had that error? still looking for ways to fix orientation.

    ReplyDelete
  51. have you try flash to cm7.1 stable and reflash again to MyGingerB? That's solve my orientation problem.

    ReplyDelete
  52. @mike
you can try my steps on flashing this properly.
i previously had problem with that inverted axis.
    1. flash cm7.1 nb0 with sutlr. after that, phone will shut down.
    2. master reset (red+cam+power)
    3. reboot to recovery. update to mygingerb1.0.3
    4. reboot and test the axis.
    5. if still inverted, reboot again to recovery and install eav6 kernel
    6. reboot again to test axis. if still inverted, remove battery for several mins.

That's the last step then it fixed my orientation problem.

    ReplyDelete
  53. @angelictears
how can I solve the problem with the camera? the zoom feature does not seem to work properly?

    ReplyDelete
  54. i also have a question. why is it the when i use the camera(flash on) of all cm roms, picture is like cut into half? is there a fix for that?

    ReplyDelete
  55. @ahwee and zuckerburg. Thanks for the steps. ^_^
I've managed to fix the inverted axis by flashing mygingerb over 7.1 nb0. Currently on gaia with kernel ea#20

still had the force close error at start then sometimes keyboard pops up with menu soft key then i have to reboot to fix the issue

    ReplyDelete
  56. just tested the camera when i read the above post. There is a horizontal line at the middle of the pic that i took. it seems like the upper portion of the pic is brighter than the lower portion.

  57. i can't use voice action for Iris. it will force close error. please help

    ReplyDelete
  58. @angelictear: i'm currently using your rom right now (MyGingerB Gaia) and it works well on my Z71. One thing, what home launcher does this rom uses and how can i adjust it's settings? Again thank you and more power!!! ^_^

    ReplyDelete
  59. @all

The camera problem does vary from phone to phone, some works very well and some does have problem. However, I am try to fix it and will include in future fix release :)

For voice input, i can confirm that there is a bug on it that will force close, or connection lose issue on it on several phones, although this is for Gaia only, 1.0.3 can use voice with no problem.

The launcher in this ROM are default launcher, used by Google Android and there are no setting for it, download any launcher that you like in the market. :D

    ReplyDelete
  60. @mike & zuckerberg
I also have that too, it is an inherited problem with most CM ROMs but I made some adjustment in its camera by decreasing contrast into half and increasing the sharpness to full.

    @angelictears
your ROM has increased performance by applying V6 Supercharge and I have applied ubuntu 3 then ubuntu 20 to eliminate the incorrect orientation. Nice one!

    ReplyDelete
  61. Thanks :)
And great feedback guys, hope you're enjoying it :)

A note on iris or other speech recognition app, I've tested and there's nothing wrong with it, I can use it just fine, try data wipe or reflashing. Also try to fix permission via rom manager, that'll fix most force close error..

  64. @allan : full charge ur battry and go to recovery.
    erase Battry stats.
it will increase ur battry back up.

    ReplyDelete
  66. For everyone that has orientation problem, just try to flash cm 7.1 stable an then MyGingerB 1.1

  68. using MYGingerBread 1.1.0 Gaia with ubuntu kernel #20:
    hotspot not working
pictures taken from camera has horizontal line but barely visible

mygingerberb 1.0.3 and gaia are very stable and fast roms. and i have no orientations problems using any of these two.i have also no reason to go back to phantom since these roms is very stable to use daily.

my methods is: cm 7.1 > mygingerb > gaia
    thanks to Angelictears

    ReplyDelete
  69. @anon.
you need to have busy box 1.18.2 or lower and script manager.

  71. @ all

A top tip, if your planning on testing kernel frequently, try to recalibrate your battery like Govind said above once you found a stable kernel that you like. changing kernel often corrupt the battery stats and often "draining" battery that shouldn't happened.

    For V6 script, try setting 7 (6, 8 ,26, 28, 30 ,32mb) or setting 6 (6, 8, 26, 27, 28, 28mb)for balance between games and other apps.

camera are problem from cyanogenmod source bug, until now there are no fix although I believe cyanogenmod team are working hard to fix it, I myself are trying to fix it although no success. The hotspot depends on the kernel you are using, most 2.6.32.x kernel does not have a working wifi environment (never sleep, hotspot non working etc) as the kernel we're design to work on Froyo. Although kernel 2.6.35.x and above does fix the issue with wifi and hotspot, although there are no stable 2.6.35.x kernel available, you can try the latest 2.6.35.x kernel by edgar (links are not provided), but there are several bugs depends on users phone, several other 2.6.35.x kernel are

    APt kernel v1.1
    PlayOss kernels beta

thanks for the support guys, and remember to follow me at my blog
