Hi is there any other site that provides a more detailed set of instructions for noobs. I m on a non cyanogen mod ROM that I lifted from here. (the offical motorola one i think coz i get a motorola bootup screen instead of the default spice one on my mi 300).

When do you think this development for gingerbread Roms will end and as a noob would I be better advised to wait for that ?

Also, do you think Motorola Defy is a significant step up from this phone .

can you tell me please if this mod have focus on camera? and if is better than this one "[Rom 2.3.3] Cyanogen MOD 7.0.2 nb0 with gapps + memory + battery fix"( with this one I have some problems with apps, camera and sometimes my Boston is running very hard). Thanks, you are doing a good job :)

@Zoora - try android police (www.androidpolice.com) or ubiquitense (www.ubiquitense.com) for tutorials and how to articles.

I have a big problem, I charging my Boston battery full and after that I was sleeping a few hours, when I wake up my Boston was off because the battery was empty. What is the problem??
I apologize for my bad English

Hi Guys, you are doing a great job by making all these wonderfull ROMS available for us. I have a small request to make, can you please let us know what is the change in this build versus the 83 and 88 build? I had shifted to 83 last week and it was ok except for battery and wifi issues, what would change with this build?

Lawliet said...

SuperAOSP kernel have problem with wifi
when check always connected, no wake
screen off, wifi status is disconnected.

Antrim said...

@lawliet,

I agree with you, what does that file do, why is it useful?

[1- download 2.3 nb0 rom cm7.0.2_z71_battery_memory_fix.nb0]
Thats easy. Probably the only step thats easy for me.

[2- update your phone to 2.3 rom using SUT SUTLR_v1.7.0]
So The 2.3 ROM would be cm7.0.2_z71_battery_memory_fix.nb0 file, right ?

[3- download cm_z71_full-90.zip and update kernel SuperAOSP 8.0 RC2 to your memory card]
Does that mean I download the 2 files i.e. cm_z71_full-90.zip file and update kernel SuperAOSP 8.0 RC2 to your memory card file ? Because I dunno how to update kernel to my memory card.

[4- on the recovery menu apply the new rom build update and after that apply the battery and memory fix]
After I have applied the new ROM build which should be cm_z71_full-90.zip, what should I do ? What is battery and memory fix ? Is it cm7.0.2_z71_battery_memory_fix.nb0 file. But I used it in step 2. And call be noobish but my headbanging research of past 24 hours shows you can use .nb0 files in SUT LR and in recovery menu thingy you use .zip files which most Cyanogen mods are. Am I going wrong somewhere ? Or the battery and memory fix this step refers to is actually the update kernel SuperAOSP 8.0 RC2 file ?

[5- reboot your phone and that's all :D You have the 2.3.4 rom !!!]
You make it sound so simple. :p

zoora said...

If somebody knows why do we have two types of ROM files anyways. Just curious. Why do we have both .nb0 files of phantom sky revolution and .zip files of cyanogen mods. Could somebody enlighten me.

On a side note: Man, i love android. It made me feel geeky and cool and feel i was learning new things. I look at about a million pages and instructions. Try everything, my phone hangs at boot, my comp gives cryptic messages but everything turns all right in the end. Yipee. And since I don't flash custom ROMs too often in the next few months, its the same story all over again. :p

@ lovabllife2006

thanks dude, I incorporated those in my extensive research. I dunno what clicked but I m on Phantom Sky Revolution ROM now with my IMEI number restored. Dunno what clicked but I think the problem was my previous ROM was of a different though similar phone to mine so it was probably I driver problem. Thats a wild guess. I dunno what happened but just glad to see I can still change ROMs I was beginning to think this morning I was stuck on that ROM forever. If I wanted that I would have bought the iphone 4 (if it weren't so hideously expensive, launching in India at end of this month and its more expensive than Samsung Galaxy S2 !!!!!!!)

@Mighty Ghost it is a bug i was experiencing the same problem wen i flashed build cm_z71_full-89.zip and i had to revert back to build cm_z71_full-88.zip and everything i fine now

when the final version release date? tired waiting.. always update and update...zzzzzzz

Sapraj said...

I figured it out...........led blinking is a notification when sms, email, or if you are out of network coverage. it is not a bug.

REBOOT your phone into download mode and sutler will detect your phone.so dont worry.
even brick phone can be recovered.
Download Mode: End_call + Vol_Up + Power

base201076@ install new recovery using fastboot mode

base201076 said...

Thank you very much for fast response. Just another question: do i have to do another thing, as is written above? And what do i have to choose at update options in sutlr? @base201076 just go to ua ROM manager and flash clockmod Recovery then try to Enter recovery Mode. If that doesn't help u i suggest u flash the cm7.0.2_z71_battery_memory_fix.nb0 again.

Where is z71 driver? I can't thetering without that...anyone can help me to find up?

Davies said...

sup guys I THOUGHT its a good thing to share this with especially for those who don't know how to enable or make app2SD in CyanogenMod 7.

NB:B4 U PROCEED U MUST HAVE TO PARTITION UA SD CARD OR IT AIN'T GONNA WORK.

step 1:DOWNLOAD S2E (simple2ext) FROM THE MARKET
step 2:Go to Settings> CyanogenMod Settings> Application> install location, select/check the internal option
step 3:And then go to the S2E check/select to all the channels (except Application Data) and press Reboot.
step 4 :If you are unable to check/select to all the channels above(ON STEP 3) :press Menu, select Settings check both the Mount as ext4 and set read buffer.now reboot
step 5: go to step 3
step 6: you can download Quick System Info to check ua A2SD information or you can use titanium backup also or any other app u know
GOOD LUCK

wtf this cyanogen @##$# .
when will we see a new rom (no cyanoden builds)

Sek Ranger said...

@vivek I faced this problem since build 69 until current build.

My solution is I flash my A88 with Phantom Sky Revolution instead.

Well... not quite a solution indeed.
