[Rom 2.2] Cyanogen MOD 6.1.1 for Z71 - Final Version

Cyanogen MOD 6.1.1 for Commtiva Z71, Apanda A60, Chinavision Excalibur, Cincinnati Bell Blaze , Gigabyte Gsmart G1305, Motorola XT502, Muchtel A1, Optimus Boston, Orange Boston, Spice Mi-300, Vibo A688 and Wellcom A88 - Final Version (12/12/2010)

"CyanogenMod is a free, community built distribution of Android 2.2 (Froyo) which greatly extends the capabilities of your phone.
his is an AOSP-based build with extra contributions from many people which you can use without any type of Google applications. I found a link from some other project that can be used to restore the Google parts, which can be found below or elsewhere in the thread. I've still included the various hardware-specific code, which seems to be slowly being open-sourced anyway.

any comments on battery usage??? or is it the same as 6.1??

In my phone, the battery spent 15% in the lastest 5 hours. When I had the 6.1 in the same number of hours, with a similar usage, spent more than 40%.

Guys, anyone tried the headset?
Does the headset button work for answering calls or launching the music player?
In previous version I used to get message "SD card removed unexpectedly", also the phone used to reboot frequently.

c'mon seriously?? is it final or just another build??? i really wait for the real final version.

ps:
for battery i suggest you not to use battery booster or so. coz it's just stupid apps only make my boston over heat and drain faster. i've tried all battery booster but all waste.

suggestion to make your battery longer. switch brightness to minimum. do fix permission in rom manager. use less widget that working in the background. haha stupid suggestion!!!

i installed build 52, at http://mirror.teamdouche.net/?device=z71 it says it was posted after the 6.1.1 final so i think it has some improvements, but with build 52 i have got 84% battery status for about 5 hours of intense usage and the phone just switched off, after 10 minutes it started itself with the battery fully drained and couldn`t get it going for another 15 minutes, pluged it in for charging and after an hour or so it`s still att 13% i don`t know if that is from the software part or my battery could have a fault? if anyone could help or have the same probleme please let me know

yet again guys custom roms are never 100% satble, if you really want a stable rom keep the original rom, well atleast I manage to make a2sd work on my XT502 stock ROM, by using kongs custom recovery :D a2sd is the most important thing for me right now

hi ginjamaka, can teach me how to make apps2sd work on XT502 stock rom?
thanks in advance =)

monis said...

@Cesc u have to partition ur sd card in recovery
and after that apply app2sd it will work.
try cmleclair 1.3 rom and no need to download any other recovery use cmleclair 1.3 recovery.

@cesc
if u can manage to flash custom roms with rut do as monis said.
if not try my way. only if clockwork mod recovery messed up your bootloader bad that RUT can't flash your pone.
1.have rom manager installed and install clockworkmod recovery via rom manager
2.Find the A88 kongs custom recovery(can find it here boston mania)
3.Next go to clockworkmod folder in SD and have look at download/koush.tandgaming.com/recoveries.
4.Make a backup of that clockcrap recovery
5.Next rename the A88 custom recovery by kong the same as the one that you will find in the mentioned folder.
5.Go to rom manager and choose flash clockworkmod recovery>choose Z71 blah blah, it will actually flash the A88 custom rom just because it was renamed.
6.reboot into recovery and u will have a88 custom recovery wich I find it better than clockcrap.
And as monis said u must partition ure sd before applying app2sd(first make sure ure phone is rooted or else it wont work)

oh no.. i've accidentally deleted my backup on xt502 original rom and i cant flash it back =(
the stock rom posted in this forum dun work at all.. they are all image file which can only be applied via this Motorola software update tool which recognizes only Motorola phone of cuz.. BUT it now no longer recognizes my xt502 since my phone has turn into z71 after flashing CM6.1..
urghhh..
who can share with me his backup stock rom..?

monis said...

@cesc try using RUT, if u r able to reboot into recovery then i think RUT will work.
and dont worry if RUT is working then u can apply ur official rom aswell as any custom rom.

Unknown said...

@monis thanks for your advice.. but the problem is RUT cant even detect my phone though i was able to reboot into recovery or fastboot mode.
and when i install the necessary drivers from this forum, RUT still cannot detect my phone.. now i'm really stuck

Ok where from I can get RUT - first question.

Second is how can I get my XT502 stock recovery. I don't need this clockworkmod :(

Hello,
I tried to upgrade my Orange Boston from original Orange img via Apanda 1.6.2 to CyanogenMod, but I got stucked after trying to installing Clockwork Recovery. RomManager always says success when flashing the newest Recovery.img but it wont flash a older version. I also tried to flash three diffrent recovery.img in fastboot mode and never got an error, but when i boot from recovery it hangs with "starting recovery from flash". The status of the Boston is now.

Android: working Apanda 1.6.2
Fastboot: working
Recovery: not booting
Root: im not 100% sure about that it works correct (used cyanogenmod instructions for rooting)

Thanks for your help!
bernd
